I have tried to encourage people to volunteer to bond with the people of the church. Its a wonderful way to make new good friends and it actually can be fun doing things together. The more you give to your church the more you feel apart of the Christian community.
The response I have received the most when I have tried to encourage participation to volunteer is the fear of failure or criticism.
